The Word Produces Its Own Fruit (Luke 8:4-15)

Pastor Gullixson, February 12, 2012
Part of the Historic Lectionary - Pre-Lent series, preached at a Sunday Divine service

Lord of the harvest, You sow good seed into the hearts of people everywhere: Grant that our hearts may not be so hardened by the world’s traffic that the seed can take no root; nor so shallow that the roots can find no depth; nor so cumbered with the cares and riches of the world that the growing shoots are choked; but that we by Your gracious working through the Spirit may be good ground, bearing good fruit; to the glory of Your name. Amen. (Parish Prayers, ed. Frank Colquhoun, p. 52)
