Our Pastor

Rev. Dale Jaech (May 2016-   )

In 1950, Dale Jaech, the son of Howard and Vera, was baptized into the Christian faith in the southern Wisconsin farming hamlet of Wonewoc.  There, he was blessed with a Lutheran elementary education at St. Paul Lutheran Church (WELS), as were his father, his brother, and his sister; where his grandfather had helped to build the church and his father had helped to build the school.

Dale attended high school at Martin Luther Academy when it shared the DMLC campus in New Ulm, Minnesota. He began his college education at Mankato (MN) State College in 1968, then enlisted in the US Navy in 1970.  The next 30 years included secular employment, family growth, and lay service in locations literally, from one end of the country to the other.

In 2001, encouraged by his wife Rebecca and his pastor in Hillsboro, Oregon, Dale began to study for the public ministry, returning to college at Concordia University in Portland Oregon.  In 2003, he was admitted to Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary, graduating in 2007.  He served his vicarage at Bethany Lutheran Church in Port Orchard, Washington. He served as pastor at Faith Lutheran Church in Hillman, Michigan, where he was ordained (2007), and also served Calvary Lutheran Church in Ulen, Minnesota before returning to secular employment in 2011.  After moving to California in 2014, he served as vacancy co-pastor to Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bell Gardens, California.

Beside his Naval experience as a marine navigator, Dale has also been a drug & alcohol counselor, right-of-way agent, AAL (Thrivent) agent, and long haul truck driver and trainer.

Dale is the father of a son and daughter; grandfather of four.  Rebecca is the mother of a daughter and grandmother of two.  They presently care for Rebecca’s grand-niece, Casey.

When they have the opportunity, Dale and Rebecca enjoy sailing and camping.
